Wedding Champagne

Wedding planning directory, resources and bridal information

For a very special moment in a wedding, perhaps for the bride and groom to share their first toast, a prestige cuvée is unrivaled for quality and elegance. These Champagnes are top of the line, made only from the finest grapes of the highest-rated vineyards and only in vintage years. When seeking a prestige cuvée, remember your House style preference, because these luxury cuvées are intended to be the most refined expression of each Champagne House. La Grande Dame, from Champagne Veuve Clicquot, is made from the eight grands crus vineyards House founder Madame Clicquot purchased in her lifetime. It upholds the quality standard of excellence for which the House is renowned.

Be sure sure your wedding Champagne is served properly, a few more tips are in order: chill the bottle well in a bucket of ice and water for 30 minutes. Open the bottle by removing the wire muzzle, grasping the cork firmly with one hand. Turn the bottle, not the cork: the pressure inside the bottle will ease the cork out with a soft, gentle pop. (Sudden, loud popping only causes loss of effervescence and wasted wine!) Remember always to use tall, tulip or flute glasses, which capture Champagne bubbles and concentrate its aromas. Don't use saucer type glasses which dissipate the bubbles rapidly and are awkward to hold.

Champagne is the quintessential wine of celebration on any occasion, but perhaps none more special than weddings - that is, until it's time for an anniversary!
