Including Children in a Wedding Ceremony

Wedding planning directory, resources and bridal information

Couples are strongly encouraged to write their own second wedding vows for their second marriage ceremony; this way they are more meaningful and personal. Self-created wedding vows can be a source of strength and inspiration for the lifetime of your marriage. When writing your own wedding vows keep in mind what your impending marriage means to you and describe what makes your relationship special. Talk to each other and think about what the other person, the marriage ceremony and spending the rest of your life with your significant other means to you.

Sample Children's vow:
"And now, (children's names) do you promise to love and respect your parent's new husband/wife? Do you promise to support their marriage and their new family? Do you promise to accept the responsibility of being their children, and to encourage them and support them in your new life together?"
